All abstracts must be submitted online.
Abstracts accepted for presentation at the Nursing Home Research International Conference will be published in a special supplement of the Journal of Nursing Home Research - JNHR for the event.
Abstract that do not conform to format will not be considered for
presentation.
Oral Presentation (15mn) - Poster Presentation
Abstract must be 350 words long (maximum length not counting title, authors' names and affiliations). Abstracts exceeding this word limitations will be cut at 350 words.
• The title of presentation should be followed by the names and affiliations of the presenting author
• The abstract must include the following sections: Background - Objectives - Methods - Results - Conclusions.
Abstracts may be submitted for oral or poster presentations. Authors may indicate a preference for oral or poster presentation but all decisions will be made by the scientific planning committee whose determination is final.
Symposium (1 hour)
The abstract should not exceed 1000 words (excluding abstract title, authors’ names and affiliations).
There should be no more than 3 presenters excluding the moderator.
• The title of the abstract should be followed by the names and affiliations of the moderator
• The title of each presentation should be followed by the names and affiliations of the presenting author and co-authors.
Please, note that the committee responsible for selecting abstracts will rate your study according with the templates below.
The abstract should not exceed 350 words and be divided into five sections (each section should be bolded and underlined in your abstract):
• Background: One phrase to contextualize and provide a rationale for your study.
• Objectives: One phrase to clearly state the objective(s) of your study.
• Methods: Clearly indicate study design (eg, qualitative study using focus group, or 6-month RCT, or 10-year longitudinal cohort study, etc) and setting (eg, nursing homes in France), the year(s) when the study was performed (eg, between 2014 and 2016), study population providing the exact number of participants (characterize participants: older adults, etc), and the main outcome measure(s). If you have space, also provide the statistical test(s) used.
• Results: Please, give results in numbers: effect sizes with 95% CI (or another measure, such as standard errors); just saying "significant differences were found" is not enough. Avoid uploading tables since the format may be lost.
• Conclusions: One or two phrases to provide the main clinical message (if applicable) of your study and/or to briefly designate new directions for future studies.
